Melikgazi Municipality acclaimed for its zero waste and recycling efforts, provided comprehensive education to students at Recycling Facilities to instill a zero waste consciousness and raise environmentally conscious generations.
Melikgazi Municipality, providing education on the use of waste materials as raw materials, raised awareness among students at recycling facilities about the separation, processing, and recycling of waste.
Emphasizing the importance of recycling for a sustainable future and a livable Melikgazi, Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu stated, 'We are trying to lay the foundation of zero waste consciousness to leave a liveable world for future generations. Just like in every aspect, we are aware of the undeniable importance of education in recycling as well. In this regard, today we had a great education session with the 4th-grade students of Atlas College. Our students had an enjoyable learning experience by personally observing the recycling of paper, metal, and glass waste, as well as tires, batteries, electronics, cooking oil waste, fruit and vegetable waste, and receiving detailed information about their curious questions. Education starts from the basics. Every good thing happens through education. As Melikgazi Municipality, we prioritize education to protect and beautify our nature and world. We know that recycling is essential to save our future and leave a livable world as our legacy.'
Children Have Fun and Learn with the Zero Waste Express
Highlighting the importance of recycling to contribute to the country's economy, save resources, and provide many other benefits, President Palancıoğlu stated, 'During the recycling education, our children had a fun time while also learning about zero waste with the Zero Waste Express. We made the education enjoyable with our zero waste express, which consists of a locomotive made from recycled materials and wagons made from barrels.'
