Emphasizing 'Youth First' while preparing the projects for the new term, Mayor of Melikgazi Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu is putting his signature on another project that supports sports and athletes with the 'Indoor Sports Centre' project.
''Spor clubs will not need to search for a place anymore.''
Mayor Palancıoğlu, stating that they will implement a project contributing to Kayseri becoming a sports city, said, "In Melikgazi, we prioritize the youth in this new term. As a municipality that contributes to the development of healthy and successful generations, which touch people's lives and continue to support in sports fields, we are preparing projects. Our youth are valuable to us. We continue to participate in all projects necessary for their happiness and socialization.
Over the past 5 years, Melikgazi Municipality has provided support to our amateur athletes and clubs. Our sports clubs engage with our youth, perhaps protecting them from certain bad habits or wrong paths they could stray into at a young age. In this context, we aim to continue our support with a high-quality facility. With our Indoor Sports Centre, our sports clubs will not need to search for a place anymore. We will ensure our athletes have a good physical environment for sports. This place will be used by our clubs such as basketball and volleyball clubs, not for individuals. It will include various sports including martial arts besides other sports. Different sports disciplines add colour to our city. At the same time, it will be a shared facility where many schools will conduct their sports training. When we implement this project, it will open up opportunities for clubs, and a variety of sports activities will take place here. We will do everything in our power to ensure that our clubs can perform their sports under the best conditions. In this context, we will continue to stand by sports and athletes. As long as our youth engage in sports, we are always on their side," he said.
