MAYOR PALANCIOĞLU ANNOUNCES NEW PROJECT: STREET ANIMAL VILLAGE

Renowned for his innovative projects, Melikgazi Municipality Mayor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu stated that he would establish a village for stray animals in Melikgazi.
Mayor Palancıoğlu, stating their aim to provide a loving home for stray animals, expressed, "We are establishing a comprehensive village in Melikgazi for our stray animals who share the same world with us and are in need of love, care, and attention. As Melikgazi Municipality, we are implementing such a beautiful project for both the care and needs of stray animals and the safety and peace of mind of our citizens. This project aims to improve the living conditions of stray animals and provide them with shelter, along with care, treatment, and rehabilitation services. We will host stray animals in a village environment to aid in their recovery. Within our animal village, there will be natural habitats, a cafe, event space, and a dog-training park. The zoning plan, allocated area, and our project are ready. I hope that we will implement our project in a short time.
Mayor Palancıoğlu, stating that stray animals will be put up for adoption after receiving the necessary care and rehabilitation, said, "There are three important procedures we need to undertake regarding stray animals. The first one is sterilization.
As you know, stray animals reproduce multiple offspring in a single birth. This situation leads to a significant increase in the population of stray animals. Therefore, sterilization comes as one of the crucial procedures we need to perform as a municipality. Another important procedure is rehabilitation. We will rehabilitate stray animals in a conducive environment with veterinary services, provide care, and then put them up for adoption. It is a vital aspect for our little friends. In addition to protecting our animals from various dangers outside, we will also improve their well-being with our quality care services. The last important aspect is the application of ear tags. By applying ear tags, we will understand that our animals benefit from our municipality's care services, that they are a member of our stray animal village, that they have been rehabilitated, and that they are healthy."
