MELIKGAZI MUNICIPALITY HAS STARTED DISINFECTION WORKS DUE TO THE WARMING WEATHER

Melikgazi Municipality, working diligently to provide services befitting Melikgazi and to enhance the quality of life for citizens, is conducting disinfection works across the district to combat larvae, mosquitoes, and pests that threaten human and environmental health.
With the warming weather, meticulous disinfection efforts are being carried out by the Environmental Protection and Control Directorate teams to prevent the proliferation of organisms negatively affecting health.
We Conduct Periodic Disinfection Throughout The Year.
Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu emphasized our aim to ensure the residents of Melikgazi enjoy a healthy and comfortable summer by continuing intensive disinfection activities in green areas. He stated, 'Our team members are diligently carrying out disinfection activities to sterilize areas heavily used by our citizens and to take precautions against the increased proliferation of larvae, mosquitoes, and pests especially at the beginning of the summer months. Our municipality continues its intensive disinfection efforts this year as well, carried out at regular intervals as in previous years.
Through our disinfection activities conducted throughout Melikgazi, we aim to prevent potential diseases such as malaria and typhoid that can be caused by bacteria carried by harmful organisms. In addition to heavily frequented areas by our citizens, we conduct disinfection in areas such as septic tanks, manholes, waste containers, and drains where harmful organisms can breed. We provide effective services using environmentally friendly, ecologically compatible pesticides and state-of-the-art equipment during our operations, ensuring that we do not harm the ecological system. As Melikgazi Municipality, we take every necessary precaution for the health of our citizens. In this regard, citizens also have a significant role to play. To prevent the adverse effects of harmful organisms, it is important not to leave trash uncovered and to ensure that food and beverages are not left exposed," stated the mayor. Mayor Palancıoğlu stated that the disinfection works would continue throughout the year at periodic intervals, emphasizing that their conscientious efforts will persist in providing protective measures for both the environment and public health.
