"Melikgazi Municipality continues to deliver record-breaking services in parks and green spaces."

Melikgazi Municipality, which has added nearly 300 parks and green spaces to the district in six years and continues to increase this number daily, has achieved success with the park projects it has implemented on Felek Street and Olgunlar Street in the Yıldırım Beyazıt neighborhood.

Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu made the following statement in his statement:

“As Melikgazi Municipality, we are the municipality that has built the most parks in Turkey. The number of parks we have built so far is approaching 300. During the Covid-19 pandemic, with the slogan "80 parks in 80 days," we built 80 parks in our district in 80 days and transformed 400,000 square meters of land into green space. "We are planting trees, not saplings!" With the slogan, we beautified Melikgazi with trees as large as plane trees. We continue to beautify Melikgazi. We have transformed a 10,500-square-meter area on Yıldırım Beyazıt Felek Street into a beautiful place with playgrounds, football, tennis, and basketball courts, and sports fields. We have reached the final stages of our work and will be completely finished within two weeks. Our citizens will be able to spend quality time here; our children will be able to exercise and play comfortably. Most importantly, we have a walking path made of natural materials, without using any plastic. Citizens who want to exercise or walk will be able to benefit from this path. We are bringing dozens of parks like this beautiful park to Melikgazi. May it bring us good fortune and success. I thank my colleagues who contributed.
