The historical Bakkaloğlu Mansion will be opened as the Vineyard Museum through the restoration efforts of Melikgazi Municipality
Melikgazi Municipality Mayor Assoc. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu, who preserves the historical and cultural values of the city through restoration works that bring Kayseri's ancient history to light, stated that the restoration works of the Bakkaloğlu Vineyard Museum are progressing rapidly. He said:
Throughout the centuries, Kayseri, which has been home to many civilizations and embraced numerous cultures, reflects our efforts as Melikgazi Municipality to preserve our values and pass down our heritage to future generations through restoration works. In Melikgazi, we have undertaken restoration projects for landmarks such as Gön Han, Köşk Medrese, Mustafa Bey Mansion, Sırçalı Kümbet, Suya Kanmış Hatun Tomb, Gavremoğlu Mansion, and Dört Ayak Tomb, allowing us to closely examine history, restore them to a healthy and sturdy condition, and ensure their preservation for many years to come. The han, medrese, tomb, fountains, and historical mansions that we have restored authentically attract the attention of both domestic and foreign tourists, contributing to our city's tourism. One of these beautiful and detailed projects is the Bakkaloğlu Vineyard Museum, which will host our city's viticulture culture. Our museum, located in Germir Neighborhood, stands out among our projects as the first of its kind in Turkey, meticulously restored to its original form with attention to every detail. Built in the 19th century with cut stone, this structure features wooden and plaster decorations. After completing the restoration, we will furnish the interior of the mansion in the typical vineyard house concept of the region. We are already wishing our fellow citizens good luck with our museum, which we have carefully restored. As we invest in the future of Melikgazi, we will continue to preserve the traces of our past.
