Melikgazi Municipality continues to provide all kinds of support to the ‘Melikgazi Municipality Mehmet Altun Aviation and Space Technologies Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School’, a project that rekindled the aviation torch in Kayseri.

Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Dr. visited the Aviation High School, which is among the 13 leading schools in Turkey within the scope of the Diamond Model. Mustafa Palancıoğlu stated that they provided support with high-end processors and specialized computers, and that they aimed to enable students to gain many experiences with tools and equipment, aircraft engines and helicopters from TEI and TUSAŞ. President Palancıoğlu, who also attended the Technical Drawing lesson given online by Murat Pehlivanlı, an expert from Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), did not neglect to spend time with the Aviation High School students.

MELIKGAZI MUNICIPALITY'S SUPPORT FOR THE AVIATION HIGH SCHOOL IS COMPLETE!

Stating that they aim to train many young people who will ensure the security and defense of Turkey, they made the following statement:

“As Melikgazi Municipality, we continue to provide all kinds of support regarding the aviation high school. In the hangar section, we have tools and equipment that we received from TEI and TUSAŞ. Three aircraft engines came from TEI for our children to receive training and develop themselves. At the same time, a hacked helicopter came from TUSAŞ. With this helicopter..." Our children will gain experience in many areas, from disassembling and reassembling aircraft to propellers, braking systems, and landing gear. I would like to thank TUSAŞ General Manager Mehmet Demiroğlu, the President of the Defense Industry, Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, who has supported our project from the beginning, and all my team members. Indeed, our Aviation High School has now become one of the most important schools in Turkey. The fact that it is one of the 13 schools across Turkey that is under the patronage of the Presidency of the Defense Industry and the Ministry of National Education's 'diamond model' beautifully expresses the importance of this high school. We see how important the defense industry and aviation are in the face of the negative developments currently occurring in Iran, Gaza, Lebanon, and other Islamic regions. The young people, our children, who graduate from our Aviation High School will serve the future of Turkey. Many Selçuk Bayraktars who will ensure Turkey's security and defense will be trained at this school. Within this scope, our children will gain experience with the helicopter we received as a donation from TUSAŞ. This is just the beginning. We will ensure that all kinds of tools and equipment related to aircraft, helicopters, UAVs, and drones, including parts and components, come here. Kayseri, which has a very good history with the TOMTAŞ Aircraft Factory and the Air Supply and Maintenance Center, is moving towards making its old days even better with the Aviation High School, exactly 100 years after the establishment of TOMTAŞ. The children who graduate from here will be our source of pride.”

TECHNOLOGICAL SUPPORT PROVIDED THAT IS NOT EVEN AVAILABLE IN MANY UNIVERSITIES

Following his statement in the hangar, President Palancıoğlu continued his speech in the computer information room; “We are trying our best to address any shortcomings our Aviation High School may have. In the computer lab, we have acquired 26 high-end computers with advanced processors, many of which are not even available in universities; and also two different design software programs. Currently, our students' needs are more than met. We attach great importance to our students and our school. This alone represents an investment of over 5 million Turkish Lira. We are supporting it as if we were building a school. It has 11 laboratories. In addition to furnishing each of these laboratories, we will also build different laboratories ranging from artificial intelligence and electronics to robotics. The Aviation and Space Sciences High School will likely become one of the top-ranked schools accepting students with the highest scores by 2026. With our support and the motivation of our children, very qualified, competent young people who will shape the future of Turkey will be trained here. Therefore, we will continue to provide all kinds of support here, such as tools, equipment, and technical support.” he said.

Hakan Yiğit, the principal of Melikgazi Municipality Mehmet Altun Aviation and Space Technologies Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, thanked Mayor Palancıoğlu for his significant support.
