Melikgazi Municipality held a "Thank You and Memorial Concert" to honor heroic veterans and commemorate the martyrs who lost their lives in Korea on the 75th anniversary of the Korean War.
The event, held at the Melikgazi Municipality Theater Hall and filled with emotional moments, once again emphasized the foundations of friendship between the Turkish and Korean peoples and the heroism of the heroic Turkish soldier.
"Our Kayseri Metropolitan Mayor, the Mayors of Kocasinan and Talas, and a delegation of council members visited South Korea, our sister cities. Today, we are bringing you a wonderful concert. We have Korean veterans and their families among us. I also extend my sincere gratitude to them. Our entry into the Korean War and the loss of our martyrs have improved relations between our two countries and transformed them into brotherhood. We, as Kayseri, will continue to develop our relations with Korea. The Turkish soldier, who is remembered not only for the courage he displayed during the South Korean War but also for his conscience, compassion, and love for humanity, is remembered with respect throughout the world, despite the years that have passed. During the most difficult days of the war, the Turkish soldier made history not only on the front lines but also for humanity. In the midst of the war, he took care of the hungry and orphaned children and gave them a helping hand. Our soldiers, who built a home and approached us with compassion, have earned an indelible place in the hearts of the Korean people. The South Korean people, who have not forgotten the sacrifices of the Turkish soldiers, call the Turkish people "blood brothers." With these feelings and thoughts, I hope that the special friendship between these two blood-brother countries will last for generations. I thank the Korea Grey Youth Choir for their magnificent performance and their performances. I also pray for God's mercy upon all our martyrs and those who died in the Korean War.”
The songs performed throughout the concert reminded us of the struggle during the Korean War and the bonds of brotherhood between our two countries.
