Giving information about the exhibition in which the frames of photographer Veliya Hasanbegovic, who experienced the Srebranica Massacre, took place, the Mayor of Melikgazi Dr. Mustafa Palancioglu said, "We organized this meaningful exhibition on the 26th anniversary of the Srebrenica Genocide in cooperation with the UID International Democrats Union. It is our greatest wish that the persecution in Muslim geographies will end and the tears will be wiped away.Art is also a way of publicizing and stopping oppression. We are doing our part in this context. There are 46 photographs of photographer Veliya Hasanbegovic in our exhibition. Thousands of our Muslim brothers were massacred. We commemorate our 8372 innocent Bosnian brothers and sisters who were massacred in the Bosnian genocide, regardless of babies, women or the elderly, with mercy on the 26th anniversary of the massacre.July 11, 1995 is the date that caused an unforgettable pain. The Srebrenica Massacre, in which thousands of Bosniak civilians were massacred, is the biggest massacre in Europe since the Second World War. I once again commemorate my 8372 Bosnian brothers who were brutally murdered before the eyes of the world with mercy and prayers.
