Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Mustafa Palancıoğlu released a message for July 15th Democracy and National Unity Day.

President Palancıoğlu stated that July 15th was a historic day when the nation defended its homeland, flag, will, and independence. In his message, he included the following:

“July 15th will always be remembered as a historic day when our nation defended its homeland, flag, will, and independence. Unfortunately, nine years ago, on July 15th, this country's flag, homeland, and nation were... The treacherous terrorist organization FETÖ, which targeted us, unfortunately acted in a way that disrupted our unity and solidarity. We have lost many martyrs among our police, soldiers, and civilians. May God be pleased with all our martyrs, may they rest in peace. We have over 2,000 veterans, and we are grateful to them. July 15th showed that this nation will fight against any traitor who challenges its homeland and will know how to join forces for the development of the country. "Water sleeps, the enemy does not sleep." The proverb came true, and unfortunately, this country suffered losses on July 15th. For nine years, since July 15th, we have remembered this day with great clarity. We knew how to join hands for the development and progress of our country; we will continue to do so. May God never give such traitors another opportunity. May He always pave the way for this country. May He grant us the opportunity to work day and night for the development of this country in the defense industry, the economy, and every field. This year, we all celebrate July 15th Democracy and National Unity Day together; we commemorate our martyrs and veterans. We are in the fields and squares, hand in hand, in unity and solidarity, for the development and progress of this country.
