Adding another visionary project to change the face of the district, Melikgazi Municipality has started work on Ortaköy Street, which will add color to the social life of citizens and become a new center of attraction with its food stops and colorful shops.

In addition, a large skate park and grandstand were built in Eşref Bitlis Park, which is located right next to the project, making it more colorful and appealing to young people.

The Breeze, Flavor and Colors of Ortaköy Will Come Alive on This Street

Saying that the new project to be implemented will increase social and cultural opportunities in the district and bring a new color and breath to the district, Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu said, As Melikgazi Municipality, we continue to bring very different and colorful projects to Melikgazi and Kayseri. Parks are at the forefront of these. With our slogan 'We are planting trees, not saplings', we are bringing 10-15 year old trees together with the soil; We saved time for Melikgazi. We are currently on the asphalt road located right behind the Somyürek Health Center in our Köşk Neighborhood. This is actually an asphalt road that was previously built and not used much, passing through the middle of the park. Here, we are implementing a very beautiful project called Ortaköy Street. In other words, we will continue our work here without touching any trees, without damaging any park, but rather by beautifying and lighting it. We have built many parks. We built Yıldız Park, we built Fatih Park. We built a park in Yıldırım Beyazıt. We built Hasan Esat Işık Boulevard and parks in Belsin. We are creating a wonderful park and landscape arrangement here by lighting it and planting new plants and new trees. Here, we will both do this work and create an Ortaköy Street like the one in Istanbul. There will be small shops on this street where you can eat kumpir (baked potato), ice cream and waffles. Not only Köşk Mahallesi, but also Alparslan, Gültepe, Yıldırım Beyazıt, and the eastern part of Melikgazi, and all of Kayseri will benefit from this project. This project will especially appeal to our youth. Young people will drink their tea and coffee here, pop their chestnuts, and eat their kumpir (baked potato). This area will become a colorful and beautiful place with the work we are doing. Therefore, we are both renovating our park and making this area much more beautiful. Most importantly, we will turn an asphalted area into a place with small shops selling ice cream, waffles, and kumpir from end to end. Hopefully, this place will become peaceful and colorful. It will be a place where our citizens can breathe.” He said.

Good News for Young People: Skateboarding

Expressing that interest in skateboarding is increasing among young people, Mayor Palancıoğlu gave young people some good news that they will be happy about, saying the following:

“We have completed the construction of the Skate Park, which is right next to our Ortaköy Street, where our young people will skateboard. Our young people will skate and skate here. Also, there was a dirt area here; we agreed and we are turning it into a green area. We are also increasing the parking lot. Therefore, together with Ortaköy Street, this place will turn into a much more beautiful place. I thank our Parks and Gardens Director and my team members. Thank you to our headman who always supports us. We are doing our best to beautify our neighborhood. May it be beneficial for our young people. We are waiting for everyone at the Skate Park.”
