Melikgazi Municipality continues to implement a new application for pedestrians on the roads it has built, on school roads where traffic accidents are intense and on school roads.

           In many parts of the Melikgazi district, a line with the words "Pedestrian First" is being drawn on the streets and main roads.

          Giving information about the work carried out in order to increase the attention of drivers towards pedestrians and to ensure that pedestrians gain priority in traffic, Mayor of Melikgazi Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu said, “We continue our pedestrian-first line works in our district where vehicle, pedestrian and student traffic is heavy. The priority is the emitter, the priority is your life. Like other security areas, traffic safety is a serious issue. We want our citizens not to experience such pain from now on, and not to have any loss of life in traffic. Our goal is to have zero casualties in a traffic accident. When the works are completed, it will be ensured that drivers can safely slow down and stop while approaching the pedestrian crossing, taking into account the appropriate distance. At intersections, at pedestrian crossings where there is no traffic light, and at the same time where there is no traffic police, vehicles will slow down when they see the pedestrian crossing and pedestrian.
