Melikgazi Municipality organized a commemoration night for Necip Fazıl Kısakürek, one of the leading figures of Turkish literature, on the 43rd anniversary of his death.

Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Prof. Dr. said that they will continue to enrich the world of culture and art with various events in Melikgazi. Mustafa Palancıoğlu said, “Necip Fazıl Kısakürek was one of the most valuable and important poets, writers, and thinkers of our country. On the 43rd anniversary of his death, we came together with our citizens with beautiful poetry readings at our commemoration night for Master Necip Fazıl Kısakürek. I also read Necip Fazıl during my university years and I am someone who knows his cause. Many poets like Necip Fazıl have come from Maraş. As Melikgazi Municipality, with the Mektep Melikgazi we opened, we are doing work for our youth on art, poetry, and reading. Also, our Sanat Melikgazi will be the main center of these kinds of activities. The pen and the word are the things we need most. But unfortunately, we have fallen behind in these areas. Especially literature, history, and art are the areas we should give the most importance to. We are working to create the youth that Necip Fazıl aimed for. We need to protect and support the youth for the future of our country. May he rest in peace and "May the soul of our great master Necip Fazıl, whom we remember with gratitude and who holds a special place in our hearts, rest in peace, and may his place be in paradise. May God increase the number of such poets. I would like to thank Mr. Murat Özdeniz and Mr. Denizhan Burhan for their efforts in this program and for the poetry recitations," he said.
