MELIKGAZI, THE FRIEND OF YOUTH AND EDUCATION, TRANSFORMED THE DISTRICT INTO THE DISTRICT OF LIBRARIES
The Türkan Yücesan Akıl Küpü Library is Now Open
Continuing its commitment to education, which is among its top priorities in Melikgazi, the Melikgazi Municipality has opened the Türkan Yücesan Akıl Küpü Library, located in Kazım Karabekir Neighbourhood, upon its completion.
Our Priority is Projects that will Develop Generations!
Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu, announcing that they have established 15 Akıl Küpü Libraries in the district, stated, "Formerly known as Mahrumlar, with its new name Kazım Karabekir Neighbourhood, we may have completed one of the most comprehensive and beautiful urban transformations in Kayseri. This area is one of the neighbourhoods where the urban transformation process works best. It has come to life with all its social facilities. We have provided many services here, including schools, health centre, market, sports field, park, roads, and library. To revive the neighbourhood culture, we are building boutique schools and boutique libraries. Our youth can now receive services in their own neighbourhood without going to the city centre. In the last 5 years, we have become the municipality that built the most schools in Turkey by constructing 21 schools. Especially, the construction of our Aviation and Space High School is progressing rapidly. While shaping our city, we strive to carry out projects for future generations and youth. Therefore, schools, education, and youth projects are very important to us. We provide financial support to young people who will compete in Teknofest. In the journey towards a great and powerful Turkey, we emphasize the importance of education for the strength of our youth. Here, we offer nice facilities to our youth with special study rooms and a cafeteria. We thank Aunt Türkan very much; her name will live on here, receiving prayers. The project cost a total of 15 million TL. The amount we have spent on schools and libraries has approached nearly 1 billion TL so far. We are working together for our city of Kayseri. Our goal is the development and improvement of our city's quality. I wish our library to be beneficial for our district and Kayseri." Speaking on behalf of the Yücesan family, Mehmet Tav said, "We are proud to inaugurate this beautiful library. Mayor Palancıoğlu has put a lot of effort into this place. Therefore, I thank everyone involved. Congratulations.
Mayor Memduh Büyükkılıç, emphasizing that investments in education are never in vain, stated, "In our city with 5 universities, we should provide such libraries. Hand in hand, we are taking our beautiful city of Kayseri to the future. May Allah bless our philanthropists; we are proud of them. We love our youth very much. I thank Melikgazi, which has brought this beautiful library to Kayseri."
Kayseri Member of Parliament Ayşe Böhürler commented, "Libraries are important facilities for cities. Having 15 libraries in Melikgazi is a great thing. All research shows that intelligence alone is not sufficient. There is a significant difference between those who read books and those who do not. Having libraries in every neighbourhood in Melikgazi is a great service. I thank the Mayor of Melikgazi and everyone involved. I wish it to be beneficial."
Chairman of the Turkish Grand National Assembly National Defence Committee and Kayseri Member of Parliament Hulusi Akar also made a speech, saying, "The Kayseri municipal model continues with new services. Exemplary works are carried out each time that will be an example for Turkey. With the initiatives made by Mr. Palancıoğlu, with these incentives, and with the contributions of our philanthropists, I hope these works that have emerged will be beneficial to our country, Kayseri, and our youth. Kayseri is an exemplary city in terms of municipal services. The most valuable investment is the investment in the youth. Schools, libraries are very important for education. In Kayseri, beautiful investments are being made in this regard. On this occasion, I wish Türkan Yücesan Akıl Küpü Library to be beneficial."
