Melikgazi Municipality, which restores the structures bearing the traces of the past in the district in accordance with their original form, reintroduces historical buildings into cultural and social life by giving them new functions.

Saying that they aim to protect the historical and cultural identity of the district with the restoration works carried out in Melikgazi, Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu said, “Melikgazi is a district with a high concentration of historical artifacts. Our efforts to restore historical structures in Melikgazi district and bring them into service today continue with great care. We are bringing many structures, including mansions, inns, madrasas, tombs, and fountains, which are part of our district's tangible cultural heritage, back to life. In our work, we are not only bringing our cultural heritage to light and passing it on to future generations, but also giving the structures a new function and repurposing them. With our work, we are not only ensuring the renewal of physical structures, but also keeping the memory of a city alive. While meticulously preserving the architectural textures of the structures, we are also carrying out landscaping and environmental planning. In this respect, every restoration work we do stands out as a lasting service that adds value to our city and district. Since the day we took office in our district, we have restored Gön Han, Köşk Medrese, Suya Kanmış Hatun Tomb, Dört Ayak Tomb, Sırçalı Kümbet, Bakkaloğlu "We have completed 20 restoration projects, including many structures such as mansions and historical fountains. We are also continuing to do so. Restoration is a long and dedicated undertaking. Therefore, I would like to thank all my colleagues who have worked diligently and with great effort," he said.
