Melikgazi Municipality, in collaboration with the Kayseri AFAD Provincial Directorate, provided "Disaster Awareness Training" to municipal staff to ensure preparedness for potential disasters and increase response capacity.

The training, held at the Melikgazi Municipality Theater Hall, included: The correct behaviors to be followed in the event of an earthquake, flood, fire, and other emergencies were explained with practical examples.

Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Prof. Dr. stated that the training provided comprehensive information to staff about the precautions to be taken and what to do against natural disasters. Mustafa Palancıoğlu stated, “As Melikgazi Municipality, we are meticulously conducting awareness and training programs against all possible disasters, especially earthquakes. These training programs for our personnel are conducted by expert instructors in their respective fields. We established a Disaster Affairs and Risk Management Directorate within our municipality to prevent disasters, take necessary precautions to eliminate or mitigate damage, establish relationships with relevant institutions and organizations, prepare short- and long-term plans, and conduct studies. This directorate, in collaboration with relevant institutions, provides training on disasters to both our citizens and our personnel. The training we provided to our personnel today provided theoretical information on appropriate behaviors before, during, and after a disaster. It is crucial for our personnel to act correctly, consciously, and quickly during a disaster, both for their own safety and to provide more effective service to our citizens.
