Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu hosted the Kayseri City Council at Gön Han, located in the historic Kayseri Grand Bazaar and built approximately 525 years ago by Grand Vizier Piri Mehmet Pasha. The restoration work is nearing completion. He provided information about the ongoing work.

It's only a short while before another historical monument is unearthed and put into service. Mayor Palancıoğlu, noting that some time was left, said, “The Kayseri City Council, which continues its work to preserve the city's cultural and historical heritage, inspected many structures undergoing restoration. We also informed the delegation, which also inspected Gön Han, about our restoration work, its current status, and how we will repurpose it. We are preserving our cultural heritage in our district, restoring and reviving many structures that have survived from centuries past. Gön Han, which we have restored faithfully to its original state as a result of meticulous work, will enrich both the city's tourism and cultural life. In addition to offering tea and coffee, exhibitions, talks, live music, fairs, and charity bazaars will be held here. We have accomplished a great job here. We are currently working on the groundwork. After the groundwork, we will furnish it and put it back into service.” he said.

Kayseri City Council President Serdar Altuntuğ also thanked Mayor Mustafa Palancıoğlu for bringing historical structures back to life and reviving this valuable structure, the existence of which the city had been unaware for a long time.
