MELIKGAZI MUNICIPALITY ISSUES WARNING ABOUT EXCAVATION WORK FOR A CLEAN ENVIRONMENT.

Melikgazi Municipality, which started strict inspections for illegal excavation and rubble waste dumped randomly in the district, reminded that punitive sanctions are applied to individuals and businesses that illegally dump excavation waste outside of legally designated areas.

Stating that the Municipal Police Department teams have accelerated their routine work to prevent environmental and visual pollution in Melikgazi, Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu said, "We are working diligently to make Melikgazi more livable, and our environment healthier and cleaner. During routine checks carried out by our municipal teams, we detect that illegal excavation waste is being dumped randomly on roadsides and empty plots of land. The randomly dumped rubble harms our environment and looks very bad. Some people leave their garbage and excavation waste, which will create environmental pollution, anywhere in our district and run away. Polluting the environment has heavy penalties according to environmental law. Those who are found to be dumping illegal excavation waste outside the legal dumping sites determined by the Metropolitan Municipality in some points throughout our district are subject to penalties. Penalties are applied according to the Law No. 5326 on Misdemeanors and the municipality regulations. The security cameras of our municipality located in certain areas identify those who are dumping illegally. In this regard, those concerned must comply with the rules to avoid suffering any hardship. We remind our citizens to show the necessary sensitivity to this issue concerning the order, environmental health, and cleanliness of our district.
