Melikgazi Municipality, which continues its pioneering and exemplary work on recycling and zero waste, participated in the Zero Waste Workshop held at Erciyes University and provided information about zero waste work and practices.
Melikgazi Municipality Recycling Unit officials, who participated in the program and provided information, made a detailed presentation to the participants about the municipality's exemplary facility, zero waste work, training and zero waste collection-separation system.
Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Prof. Dr. reminded that they are a municipality that has won awards for their zero waste work. Mustafa Palancıoğlu, "Our Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change,
in order to set an example for other district municipalities in Türkiye, had shown the 'Transformation with Education Project' among 10 municipalities within the scope of Melikgazi Municipality's zero waste and recycling works as one of the best practices. The 'Zero Waste' approach, which is at the forefront of environmentally friendly policies, both protects nature and contributes to the country's economy. We continue to work diligently on this issue. Zero waste is not only an environmental, but also an economic and social transformation process. We have to contribute to this process together. I think that we, as a municipality, are doing our duty to increase environmental awareness and to spread the concept of sustainable life. Thanks to the practices in which individuals of all ages, from children to adults, can participate, we need to leave a more livable world to future generations. Zero waste is also one of the cornerstones of economic and social development. Therefore, I invite all our citizens to be sensitive about this issue. "I would like to thank those who passed by." he said.
