“147 more families realized their dreams.”

Melikgazi Municipality, which has successfully implemented urban transformation projects in a total of 7 districts in Melikgazi, held the delivery and lottery ceremony of 300 apartments in the Battalgazi Neighborhood.

Speaking at the ceremony where the home dreams of 147 families came true, Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu said the following:

“ Published in the Official Gazette on January 14, 2022, the Küçükali 2nd Stage Urban Transformation Project officially began with the signature of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. We extend our gratitude to our President for his unwavering support of urban transformation. The urban transformation process is quite challenging. Stages include obtaining permits from Ankara, planning studies, declaring the area an urban transformation area according to the law, conducting relevant tenders, and preparing relevant plan regulations. We are talking about an urban transformation project consisting of exactly 23 blocks, approximately 1,000 apartments, and shops. In other words, its current value is over 3 billion Turkish Lira. Therefore, such a large project began with the signature of our President, Mehmet Özhaseki This continued during our Minister's term, and with the support of our Minister Murat Kurum, it was finally concluded. We extend our gratitude to the President and both Ministers. There were 668 shareholders here, and agreements were signed with them. We are now handing over 300 apartments to the shareholders of 7 blocks and 147 apartments through a draw. All decisions are passed unanimously by our Assembly. We identify needs together with our neighborhood headmen (muhtars) and conduct fieldwork. Each block is tendered separately. I also thank all our contractors. These projects wouldn't be possible without unity and solidarity in Kayseri. We are working hand in hand, one after another. We continue our work in harmony. The Küçükali 1st Phase Urban Transformation Project began during our Mayor Memduh's term, and we completed it. I believe Kayseri ranks first in Türkiye in urban transformation. Kayseri is far ahead in municipal governance. Urban transformation doesn't just transform buildings; it transforms neighborhoods. It's being transformed. From grass to plane trees, from roads to sidewalks, a wealth of work is underway. Therefore, our colleagues are working with truly tremendous effort, and we thank all of them. We are carrying out urban transformation in seven districts. We are also adding new areas to our urban transformation efforts. We are talking about a municipality of our size, with a population of 600,000; there is no other municipality in Turkey that has undertaken urban transformation on this scale. What distinguishes us is that we are carrying out this challenging work with our own municipality personnel, and our tenders are subject to public procurement law. Let me also share the good news: our third phase work has gained momentum. We will also bring new urban transformation projects to you. I wish the citizens who will live here good luck and prosperity.

AK Party Kayseri Provincial Chairman Hüseyin Okandan stated that Türkiye is engaged in a groundbreaking urban transformation process, along with the vision of the President's administration in local administrations. He said that this excellent work deserves praise and thanked Mayor Palancıoğlu.
