Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mayor Mustafa Palancıoğlu held an evaluation and consultation meeting regarding the ongoing and planned urban transformation projects in the district. Mayor Palancıoğlu stated that the urban transformation projects in the district not only renovate buildings but also improve the quality of life, saying, “As Melikgazi Municipality, we have extended our urban transformation efforts to many different neighborhoods. Currently, we have a new tender in Anbar Neighborhood. The second phase of our work is underway there. The third phase of our work has begun in Kazım Karabekir Neighborhood. The second phase is nearing completion. Similarly, we have completed the second phase in Battalgazi (Küçükali) Neighborhood and handed over the keys. The third phase of our work is ongoing there. In Yıldırım Beyazıt Neighborhood, we completed the first phase last year and handed over the apartments. Here, we have started the finishing work on the buildings in the second phase. The third phase of the work has also reached a certain stage. Hopefully, we will complete the third phase this year.” We also hope to lay the foundation for the second phase. We will probably deliver all the apartments in our second phase projects this summer.” Mayor Palancıoğlu stated that urban transformation efforts are rapidly continuing in Melikgazi to create safer, more modern, and more livable neighborhoods, and added: “We are now continuing with the second phase of our urban transformation work in Aydınlıkevler Neighborhood, which we started last year. The contracts have been signed. Hopefully, the demolition work of the old buildings in the second phase will begin soon, and we will start our foundation work. We have started demolishing the blocks opposite the old terminal, known as the old entrance of Kayseri. We have reached an agreement with the owners of the old buildings there, and we will build very beautiful, comfortable new buildings. The tender will be announced soon. Another project is in Köşk Neighborhood. By demolishing the old shanty houses there, we will create a beautiful living space. So far, over 7,000 apartments have been renovated and delivered to their owners within the scope of urban transformation. We will also provide the remaining part of these apartments to our citizens with interest-free installments.” We are providing this service. Therefore, through urban transformation, we are not only relieving the burden on our citizens who own old buildings, but we are also enabling them to become homeowners by offering them new apartments. We will continue to work resolutely to build a safe and modern district where our fellow citizens can live in security.
