Melikgazi Municipality, which has attracted attention with its exemplary applications in the field of energy efficiency, completed the audit conducted in its third year within the scope of TS EN ISO 50001:2018 Energy Management System with zero nonconformities, once again demonstrating its continuity and determination in energy management. Melikgazi Municipality successfully earned the right to receive the certificate as a result of the audit.

Mayor of Melikgazi Municipality, Assoc. Prof. Dr., made the following statements regarding the matter: Mustafa Palancıoğlu, drawing attention to the strategic importance of energy management in municipal services, used the following expressions:

“The work we have been carrying out in the field of energy efficiency since 2022 has not only been limited to obtaining certificates, but has also ensured that a total of 928,760 kWh of energy efficiency gains have been achieved in energy sources such as electricity, natural gas and fuel oil within the scope of the Energy Management System, in full compliance with the energy saving and efficiency targets implemented in public buildings under the leadership of our President. As a result of these studies, a total Energy Gain Potential of 37.5% has been revealed. It is of great importance that these gains continue sustainably through regular audits carried out every year. We are happy.” Stating that the 2025 audit under the TS EN ISO 50001:2018 Energy Management System was also successfully completed, Mayor Palancıoğlu emphasized that this result is a concrete indication that Melikgazi Municipality approaches energy management with a systematic, disciplined and continuous improvement approach. Mayor Palancıoğlu stated that significant gains have been achieved in electricity, natural gas and fuel consumption thanks to the regular monitoring, analysis and implementation of improvement activities of energy consumption, and that approximately 5,750,000 TL of energy savings have been achieved as a result of the work done so far, and continued his speech as follows: “Monitoring energy consumption, As a municipality that analyzes and makes data-driven decisions, we use our resources more effectively, reduce our energy costs, and at the same time contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.” In his statement, Mayor Palancıoğlu also touched upon renewable energy and energy efficiency investments, stating that Melikgazi Municipality attaches great importance not only to reducing current consumption but also to spreading clean and sustainable energy sources: “We evaluate renewable energy sources and energy efficiency projects together, and aim to meet the energy needs of our municipality from environmentally friendly and sustainable sources to the highest possible extent. This approach is a result of both our environmental awareness and our responsibility towards future generations.” Mayor Palancıoğlu thanked the Information Technology Directorate and the Energy Management Unit, who have contributed to the establishment of the Energy Management System, and added that Melikgazi Municipality will resolutely continue its exemplary practices in the field of energy efficiency.
