Melikgazi Municipality, which has initiated cleaning efforts in the district's floodwater channels to reduce the risk of flooding during heavy rainfall, is cleaning many of the district's channels with the onset of autumn rainfall.

The channels, which play a significant role in draining water during heavy rainfall, have been cleared of waste, mud, garbage, and vegetation.

Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Reminding that they are cleaning the floodwater channels in the neighborhoods to ensure regular water flow, Melikgazi said, Mustafa Palancıoğlu said, “We have accelerated our efforts to clean the floodwater channels, which we carry out periodically twice a year to prevent flooding in various parts of our district, before the heavy rains begin. We are taking all necessary precautions to prevent any hardship for our citizens in our district. We are clearing the accumulated grass, garbage, leaves, and debris from the channels with our small diggers, facilitating the drainage of the water. We also expect our residents to be mindful of not throwing garbage and waste into the water channels and drains. I would like to thank my colleagues for their efforts.”
