Melikgazi Municipality, which has successfully implemented its zero-waste project with its significant efforts in recycling, is providing training in schools with its "Mobile Zero-Waste Collection and Education Vehicle."

As part of the training, students from Melikgazi Kindergarten and Erciyes University were trained on the importance of recycling, its understanding, and its application, and were informed about Melikgazi Municipality's zero-waste projects.

Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Prof. Dr. stated that the Mobile Zero Waste Collection and Education Vehicle, which they implemented to raise environmental awareness and promote a recycling culture, provides education at their schools to students who cannot come to the Melikgazi Municipality Recycling Facility. Mustafa Palancıoğlu said, “As the Melikgazi Municipality, we are undertaking exemplary and important projects regarding recycling and zero waste. We are visiting schools and neighborhoods with our newly purchased Mobile Zero Waste Collection and Education Vehicle to provide training. We will be providing training, especially in rural neighborhoods and in the schools within these areas. This plays a significant role in raising environmental awareness. As part of our training, we participated in an event organized by Erciyes University, where our authorized colleagues provided information about recycling and zero waste to university students and Melikgazi Kindergarten students through videos and visuals. As part of this, waste brought by the students from their homes was collected, and puzzles were presented to the kindergarten students who supported recycling. We prioritize educational activities. Because, today, it makes a huge difference for every individual to consciously separate their waste correctly and recycle their waste. Our goal with zero waste is to establish a sustainable life without harming nature, people, or the economy. Let's not forget that zero waste is not only "This is not an environmental project; it is the most valuable legacy we will leave to future generations. Our training and zero-waste efforts will continue," he said.
