Within the scope of social municipal services, Melikgazi Municipality, always supportive of families with celiac disease in the district, distributes gluten-free food packages to approximately 250 families every year in four periods.

Expressing support for individuals with celiac disease who must consume gluten-free food, Melikgazi Municipality Mayor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu stated, 'As Melikgazi Municipality, we strive to be by the side of our citizens in every need.'

In addition to our technical tasks, we also emphasize our social initiatives. We have consistently continued our gluten-free food support to meet the needs of citizens with celiac disease every year. Within the last 5 years, we provided 4,924 packages of gluten-free food support. Because the procurement of gluten-free food is more challenging and costly compared to regular food, we strive to do our best with a social municipal approach for the happiness of our people. Living with celiac disease requires a sensitive approach to nutrition. Melikgazi Municipality has always been and will continue to be by the side of individuals with celiac disease. Additionally, within the scope of our municipality's MELMEK courses, training is provided to individuals with celiac allergies and their families to enable them to prepare gluten-free meals, ranging from bread to pastries, using gluten-free ingredients. Some of our participants take this training for their spouses, some for their children, and others for themselves. This makes life easier as they learn to cook gluten-free meals. We invite those with celiac disease and those who prefer a gluten-free lifestyle to our Gluten-Free Kitchen Course at our Necip Fazıl Kısakürek Social Facility.
