The Mayor of Melikgazi is Dr. Mustafa Palancioglu said that according to the population data of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) for the year 2021, the population of the Melikgazi district has increased to 589,852 people.

      ”Welcome to our district," said the Mayor, Dr. Palancioglu stated that:

      “According to these figures, Melikgazi has a population of more than 46 provinces. Therefore, Melikgazi has become one of our most prominent districts. He is going to get even better. We are trying to serve our Melikgazi in the best way, aware of how heavy our duty is. Our Melikgazi is a municipality that invests more than many provinces. Every year our population is growing. As a municipality, we are making great efforts for the further development of our district with all our staff. We will see an even bigger Melikgazi in the coming years. Melikgazi represents 41 percent of the population of Kayseri with a population of about 590 thousand people. Therefore, we will continue to work like a province. Our services and projects will continue unabated in Melikgazi. We want to provide comfortable living opportunities to our citizens with our ongoing work based on human services.  I would like to welcome our new citizens who have come to Melikgazi to our district.”
