The Ministry of Industry and Technology's Chief Assessor Conducted an On-Site Inspection.
The "Digital Twin Project," which has become the symbol of Melikgazi Municipality's digital transformation vision, received high scores and advanced to the finals of the Productivity Awards organized by the Ministry of Industry and Technology. The project was inspected on-site by the Chief Assessor appointed by the Ministry.
Melikgazi
Mayor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu made the following remarks in the opening presentation given as part of the project review:
“At Melikgazi, we see digitalization not only as a technology investment, but also as the key to providing faster, more transparent, and more effective services to our citizens. With our Digital Twin Project, we can manage all of our district's physical assets with real-time data by modeling them in 3D. This project opens the door to a new era in municipal governance.”
Project details were provided in a technical presentation by Melikgazi Municipality R&D Manager Muzaffer Elgün. Elgün stated that the project, with its components such as GIS integration, sensor-supported data flow, decision support simulations, and a citizen portal, offers a pioneering model for local governments in Turkey.
The Chief Evaluator observed the system's operation, user interfaces, and data integration processes during on-site inspections at the project site.
The Melikgazi Municipality aims to both improve service quality and create a strong infrastructure for sustainable city management with the Digital Twin Project.
