Continuing to make citizens' lives easier with its social municipality approach, Melikgazi Municipality has signed another important service.

The “Home Personal Care Service” protocol, organized between the Provincial Health Directorate and Melikgazi Municipality for individuals who are bedridden and in need of care, was signed in the Melikgazi Municipality Assembly Hall.

Within the scope of the cooperation protocol, general body hygiene, bathing, and basic self-care procedures will be provided for paralyzed, bedridden, and elderly citizens who need care.

SPECIAL SERVICES FOR CITIZENS IN NEED OF CARE IN MELIKGAZI

Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Dr., who has implemented special services in addition to family health centers for disabled, sick, and bedridden citizens throughout the district, Mustafa Palancıoğlu made the following statement: “As Melikgazi Municipality, we are implementing various services; however, among these, we are especially striving to make our patients and their relatives more comfortable with the new opportunities we offer. Previously, we provided hair care services at home to our sick and elderly citizens. As a second service, we have started to provide transportation to and from the hospital for our patients who are bedridden, need physical therapy, and have a medical report requiring them to go to the hospital at certain intervals, using our special vehicle. We offer a special service where patients who apply to us with their medical report are picked up from their homes with our 'Accessible Melikgazi' vehicle after making an appointment, and then returned to their homes after their treatment is completed. Now, we are starting a personal care service at home.”

Stating that they have provided a great convenience for patients and their relatives, Mayor Palancıoğlu continued his words as follows:

“It is quite difficult to wash and care for our patients, especially those who are paralyzed, bedridden, and over a certain age. Therefore, within the framework of the protocol we made with our Provincial Health Directorate, we will start providing personal care services to our patients residing in Melikgazi. I thank all our colleagues who contributed. Home care, bathing and other personal care services place a great responsibility on families. We will provide this service in coordination with our Health Directorate, based on the information and reports we will receive from them. Especially I thank our Provincial Health Director. Since the day he came to Kayseri, he has been a brother who considers it his duty to serve our citizens in the best way possible. He gives us all kinds of support, and we provide all the support we can.
