Melikgazi Municipality, which carried out a tree planting event on June 5, World Environment Day, brought together 250 different types of trees on Abdülhamit Han Boulevard.

          Within the scope of afforestation efforts, 4000 leafy trees were planted at 60 different points and 5500 coniferous trees were planted at 60 different points.

          Saying that as an environmentalist and nature-friendly municipality, they are working for a greener Melikgazi heritage for future generations by planting trees on June 5, World Environment Day, Mayor of Melikgazi, Dr. Mustafa Palancioğlu said, “Our planting works for the spring term of 2021 continue. Environmental afforestation is one of the most important works we do. With the event held today, we brought together 250 trees with soil in the green belt area created on Abdülhamit Han Boulevard. We are creating a green Melikgazi by planting nearly 3,000 trees with the trees we planted today and a week ago. We create a systematic, regular and coordinated green space with afforestation work. We will bring the 25 thousand trees in our nursery together with the soil. Since we took office, we have greened an area of 600 thousand square meters. As a result of the afforestation made in the region, small forest areas are created in the regions. We are creating green belt areas around the business centres and at the entrance and exit routes to the city. Our work today is a good example of this. We care and water all the seedlings planted. However, we embezzled to the people of Melikgazi in order to protect our trees. In addition, 7000 ornamental plants were planted at 13 different points in Melikgazi and grass was planted on an area of 5000 square meters at 5 different points.” said.
