On the anniversary of the February 6 earthquake, which had its epicentre in Kahramanmaraş and affected 11 provinces, Mayor Palancıoğlu came together with the personnel working in the earthquake zone and at the Kayseri Earthquake Coordination Centre to express gratitude for their efforts and work.

     The program held at the Melikgazi Municipality Theater Hall was attended by AK Party Kayseri Deputy Murat Cahit Cıngı, AK Party Melikgazi District Chairman Tayyar Şahin, vice presidents, directors, and municipal staff working for the earthquake zone.

Mayor Palancıoğlu, reminding everyone of the swift coordination since the initial moments of the February 6 earthquake, stated, "Today, on the anniversary of the February 6 earthquake, we remembered our citizens who lost their lives with recitations from the Quran and prayers. Since the earthquake moment, we have worked tirelessly as Melikgazi. We organized meetings for action plans. From the first hours, we opened all our social facilities for our citizens to stay and have something warm to drink. Our municipal staff worked tirelessly to support the affected citizens from the first day of the earthquake, both in the earthquake zone and at the Kayseri Earthquake Coordination Centre, established under the direction of our esteemed Governor Gökmen Çiçek. Our teams worked on setting up containers and mobile showers and toilets in earthquake-stricken cities. They ensured the cleanliness and hygiene of these places. They collected garbage, conducted disinfection to prevent diseases. They personally delivered all kinds of assistance to our earthquake-stricken brothers and sisters. My colleagues in Melikgazi, as a big family, contributed greatly. In our Kayseri Earthquake Coordination Centre, we ensured the most organized collection and distribution of aid in Turkey. Many philanthropists from Kayseri delivered their aid to the earthquake zones. I extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone involved, including our representatives from Head of Kayseri Chamber of Commerce, Ömer Gülsoy; Head of Kayseri Chamber of Industry Mehmet Büyüksimitçi; Head of Kayseri Organized Industrial Zone Mehmet Yalçın; Head of Mimarsinan Organized Industrial Zone, Lütfü Çarşıbaşı; Head of İncesu Organized Industrial Zone, İrfan Püsküllü; and our esteemed Head of the Turkish Red Crescent Kayseri Branch, Mr. Cafer Beydilli, as well as many others who contributed greatly to this organization and aid efforts. Our assistance efforts are still ongoing. We recently delivered aid with five more trucks to our earthquake-stricken brothers and sisters. We built two container cities in Kahramanmaraş. We constructed bazaars in Elbistan and Adıyaman. We worked collectively in earthquake-stricken areas. Moving forward, we will work to make Kayseri more resilient to earthquakes. I extend my sincere thanks to our valuable personnel for their efforts. I pray for mercy for those we lost in the earthquake and patience for those left behind. May God protect us from such disasters in the future."

AK Party Kayseri Deputy Murat Cahit Cıngı stated, "On this day last year, we experienced unimaginable pain. We endured the greatest sorrow in the history of Anatolian lands. We went through a difficult period where human beings felt powerless. During our inspections in the earthquake zones, we witnessed Melikgazi systematically in every phase of the process. Similarly, Melikgazi managed the process very well, organizing the fearful residents and opening the doors of social facilities for them. The logistics centre ensured that aid was distributed in an organized manner. I thank all my colleagues who provided every kind of help both morally and humanely. Additionally, I express my gratitude to our President Mustafa Palancıoğlu, who exhibited superhuman effort in the earthquake zone and in Kayseri."
