Melikgazi Municipality Mayor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu, who presented the record-breaking services, provided in Melikgazi over the course of 5 years to council members and tradespeople, stated, "We have tirelessly served Melikgazi for 5 years. We reached out to every neighbourhood, devoted our efforts, and despite not having primary responsibilities, we brought many services to our district. We have become a municipality that leads in many aspects in Turkey. We have constructed the most schools, health centres, and social facilities. We have utilized public resources in the best possible manner. Over the past 5 years, we have provided Melikgazi with 21 schools, 15 libraries, 15 family health centres, 15 social facilities, 18 mosques, 9 Quran courses, and 270 new parks, totalling 3 million square meters of green space. By restoring many historical landmarks such as Gön Han and Köşk Medrese, we have set a record in service. We value our historical heritage and bring them to light. Through our urban transformation efforts, we have conducted exemplary transformation projects in Turkey. Our 'Çarşı Melikgazi' project will be talked about even 100 years from now. It will feature various food-related establishments including fruit and vegetable stalls, spice shops, nut stands, bakeries, butchers, and a restaurant called 'Sofra Melikgazi' where Kayseri's cuisine will be served. We have restored Kazancılar Bazaar, giving it a new face that befits our city. We aim to further enhance our bazaar by restoring our Covered Bazaar in the upcoming period. Additionally, we are building a vineyard museum in Germir, a first for Kayseri.
Mayor Palancıoğlu, emphasizing that efforts continue in every field and promising even better services in the new term, stated:
We have undertaken monumental tasks in urban transformation, with 70 blocks and 2634 residences renovated. Our Golden Olive Bahçelievler Housing Project stands out as one of the most important and exemplary projects for Melikgazi and Kayseri. Urban transformation efforts are ongoing in Battalgazi, Kazım Karabekir, Anbar, Yıldırım Beyazıt, and most recently in Çorakçılar Neighbourhood. With the slogan 'Planting trees, not saplings,' we have added 3 million square meters of green space to our district. We have provided a 6,000 square meter park to the Hunat neighbourhood, giving a breath of fresh air to the city centre. We are transforming the historical stone building Nazmi Toker School into a visual arts centre through restoration. In the new term, our priority is family, youth, and education. We aim to establish a college for gifted individuals, where future political leaders, economists, and scientists will emerge. We will collaborate with our Chamber of Commerce on new initiatives in e-commerce to ensure Kayseri gets its deserved share. I hope that with your support, we will receive a favourable outcome in the ballot boxes on March 31st. I wish for our meeting to be auspicious. I extend my gratitude to our Head of Chamber of Commerce Mr. Ömer Gülsoy and our Head of Council Mr. Cengiz Hakan Arslan for their commendation of our efforts.
