Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu issued a message of celebration and commemoration on the 111th anniversary of the March 18th Çanakkale Victory and Martyrs' Day, one of the greatest heroic epics in Turkish history.

Stating that the Çanakkale Victory showed the Turkish nation its love for its homeland and the strength of its faith to the whole world despite all the impossibilities, President Palancıoğlu expressed the following in his message:

“March 18th, which wrote its name in history with golden letters We are commemorating the 111th anniversary of our Çanakkale Victory once again with great honor and pride as a nation. The Çanakkale Victory, on March 18, 1915, is an extraordinary struggle waged by our heroes from all corners of our country to protect the independence of the homeland and the nation, and to ensure the survival of the homeland and the nation, despite all the impossibilities and deprivations. It is a unique, meaningful, and unforgettable epic of heroism. The Turkish nation has always emerged successfully from its struggle for existence throughout history. The foundation of today's strong Turkey is built upon its glorious history and epic victories. The Çanakkale Victory is a symbol of our nation's unity, togetherness, faith, and love for homeland, nation, and independence. By preserving the spirit of Çanakkale, we will continue to work tirelessly for these sacred lands entrusted to us by our ancestors, and we will carry our country to brighter tomorrows. With these feelings, first and foremost... I commemorate with mercy and gratitude our dear martyrs who fell for the homeland, including Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. I express my gratitude to our veterans. May their souls rest in peace and their place be in paradise.”
