Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu issued a message on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.

That the treacherous coup attempt was repelled with an epic resistance; Reminding that the nation stood up for its country, flag, land, and call to prayer, President Palancıoğlu, in his statement emphasizing the importance of keeping the spirit of July 15 alive, included the following expressions: "I had heard that 'Water sleeps, but the enemy does not sleep, the traitor does not sleep,' and we experienced this. Ten years ago, on July 15, a great difficulty arose in our country with the coup attempt by the treacherous FETÖ terrorist organization, but thank God we managed to overcome it. With the foresight and wisdom of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and with our citizens taking to the squares; standing up for their country, flag, land, and call to prayer, we overcame this treacherous coup attempt." May God Almighty never let us see such a thing again; I pray for mercy for all our martyrs. May God be pleased with our veterans, and I wish them healing. May God never show us such bad days again. We commemorate the July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day every year. On July 15, we will come together to protect the future of this country, to remember and remind others of this treacherous coup attempt. May God make the future of our country and the future of our youth bright.”
