Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu met with students who were accepted into the Melikgazi Municipality Mehmet Altun Aviation and Space Technologies Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School and their parents, providing detailed information about the school and answering their questions.
Mayor Palancıoğlu met with the students, providing information about the history of aviation in Kayseri and the school. He said, “We held a ‘Parent Information Meeting’ at the Melikgazi Municipality Mehmet Altun Aviation and Space Technologies Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. We wanted to meet with our students before the school starts. We are the municipality that has built the most schools in Turkey. Nearly 25 schools.
We will be building one of the most important institutions not only in Kayseri but in Turkey. Being an academic, I have a special interest in education.” The Presidency of Defense Industries will visit our school in September. In Kayseri, we have companies that do business with the defense industry that will support our school. We will also integrate them here. One of our partners will be the Air Supply and Maintenance Center. The commanders from that center will teach here. This year, we will begin with an English preparatory class. English, French, and German are very important in aviation.
We will always be closely involved with this school. We will strive to make it a very successful place in the future. We will provide support to meet every need here. Our school, with 11 workshops, will be a wonderful school where successful young people will be trained to produce UAVs, UCAVs, rockets, and missiles. Our students will maintain and repair many aircraft here. Thirteen schools in Türkiye, including ours, have been placed under the auspices of the Presidency of Defense Industries. The National Competency Program, which aims to train qualified human resources for the defense industry, Our school is one of the 13 schools that fit the "DIAL" model of the "Hallesi" Project. Our school is one of the three schools with the highest student scores among these 13 schools. The support provided by the Melikgazi Municipality is crucial in this. The number of vocational schools in the education system needs to increase. This is crucial. In the future, we will build an aviation middle school.
We will build a dormitory behind the school for the children. We want to ensure a good, disciplined education here. We have 11 workshops at our school. Since it is a preparatory class, we will complete the furnishing of the workshops within a year. Our instructors from the ERU Faculty of Aviation and Astronautics will provide support and teach our students. Here, our students will receive the best education they can. Together, we will visit and examine institutions such as TAI, TUSAŞ, and Baykar. We will go to TEKNOFEST in September. We believe in you. As their families, believe in your children. God willing, together we will achieve great success for our country and Kayseri. I congratulate all the students who have been accepted to our school and wish them a successful education.”
