Prof. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu, before the first light of dawn, went out into the field and, together with all the teams, carried out snow clearing and salting work to minimize the effects of the snowfall and to facilitate vehicle and pedestrian transportation. Melikgazi Municipality, Day and Night, Cold and Blizzard Conditions, Always on the Field Stating that the work will continue uninterrupted to minimize the negative effects of winter conditions, Mayor Palancıoğlu called on all citizens to be careful and take precautions, saying, “It is 5:00 AM. Together with all our team members, we are on the field with over 100 vehicles trying to open all the roads of Melikgazi. We are talking about a very large area. We are clearing a length of over 2800 kilometers, approximately the length of Türkiye's border. Around 4800 streets and avenues need to be cleared. Therefore, it is not possible to open and clear all the streets and avenues at once. As long as the snowfall continues, the cleared roads will need to be cleared again.” "We are working with all our might to ensure that our citizens are not affected by the adverse winter conditions. I would like to thank all my colleagues. They truly worked very hard all night. We continue to work in 3 shifts. We are striving to open all roads; main roads, bus routes, hilly areas, the most heavily used areas, and the areas around hospitals, hotels, mosques, and schools are among our priority areas. Our snow removal teams are continuously carrying out road salting, sidewalk cleaning, and snow plowing operations. We will continue to work in the field with our entire team to make our citizens comfortable and provide comfortable transportation."
