Melikgazi Municipality Mayor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu stated that the restoration work at the historic Köşk Medrese in Köşk Neighbourhood is nearing completion, reminding that the medrese will soon be opened as a cultural and arts centre.

Stating that Melikgazi Municipality takes pride in preserving history, Mayor Palancıoğlu said, "We attach great importance to the preservation and revitalization of historical values. Through our efforts in this direction, we restore historical artefacts that have reached our time. Aimed at bequeathing these structures to future generations, we have restored 16 historical artifacts in our district. In this context, there have been long-standing requests for the restoration of Köşk Medrese, built by Alâaddin Eretna. The Regional Directorate of Foundations transferred it to us. The structure has an open courtyard with a tomb in the middle, making it a magnificent piece. We swiftly initiated the restoration process, with only landscaping works remaining. Thus, we will restore Köşk Medrese to its former glory. Our medrese, which will become the centre of culture and arts, will soon attract local and foreign tourists. InshaAllah, we will organize many exhibitions and events here. With the projects we have implemented, we aim to transfer our cultural assets to future generations.
