Melikgazi Municipality Mayor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu stated that needs assessment has been conducted for the earthquake victims in Malatya. In this context, he mentioned that they have delivered the aid trucks prepared by the Kayseri Earthquake Coordination Center to Yeşilyurt district, which is the sister municipality of Malatya.
Mayor Palancıoğlu,
accompanied by head of Kayseri OSB Mehmet Yalçın, head of Mimarsinan OSB Lütfi
Çarşıbaşı, head of İncesu OSB İrfan Püsküllü, and Kayseri head of Red Crescent
Provincial Cafer Beydilli, visited the container city in Yeşilyurt. Palancıoğlu
said, 'Yeşilyurt Municipality is our sister municipality. We experienced the
earthquake disaster together on February 6th, and on the same day, we quickly
established an earthquake coordination centre in Kayseri. I am also the Head of
Kayseri Free Zone. With the instructions of our Governor Gökmen Çiçek, we
formed a collaboration with Kayseri Chamber of Commerce and Industry, our
Organized Industrial Zones (OSB), and Red Crescent, along with the support of
Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality and district municipalities. We
systematically sent the contributions of our industrialists and traders to the
earthquake-stricken areas. We had a meeting with Mayor Mehmet Çınar and,
according to the determined needs list, loaded the aid materials onto our five
trucks and delivered them to Yeşilyurt district. We also established two
marketplaces in Elbistan and Adıyaman, and two living spaces in Kahramanmaraş.
We are meeting the maintenance and needs of the marketplaces and living spaces,
as well as fulfilling requests such as setting up football fields and play
areas. The more united and together we are, the easier these wounds heal.'
Mayor of Yeşilyurt
Municipality Mehmet Çınar expressed his gratitude, saying, 'Kayseri has been a
great support to us both during and after the earthquake. Thanks to our sister
municipality relationship, Mayor Mustafa Palancıoğlu has always sent us aid.
Today, five aid trucks prepared with the support of benevolent and charitable
individuals arrived in our city, and we received the trucks. Malatya
experienced significant destruction during the earthquakes on February 6th, and
we lost many of our citizens. Our grief is immense. One-third of our city's
housing stock was either destroyed or severely damaged. On behalf of myself and
all earthquake-affected families, I express my gratitude and respect for your
assistance.'
Expressing their
utmost efforts in healing the wounds of the earthquake, Head of Kayseri
Organized Industrial Zone Mehmet Yalçın stated, 'Through the Kayseri
coordination centre formed under the leadership of Mayor Palancıoğlu in
Melikgazi Municipality, we gathered aid materials to meet the needs of
earthquake-affected families in an area of 50,000 square meters. We sent the
aid in an organized manner to the cities affected by the earthquake. While the
aid in Kayseri continues to increase, we have delivered 1,000 aid trucks to the
cities affected by the earthquake. The people of Kayseri are doing everything
in their power to help. We are working and running to be a remedy for a wound.'
İrfan Püsküllü Head of
Kayseri İncesu Organized Industrial Zone expressed his condolences, saying, 'I
extend my condolences to those who lost their lives in the earthquakes, praying
for mercy from Allah, offering my condolences to their families, and wishing a
speedy recovery to the injured. As the people of Kayseri, we are always here to
stand by you and at your service. We are doing our best, both materially and
spiritually, to fulfil our responsibilities.'
Lütfi Çarşıbaşı Head of
Kayseri Mimarsinan Organized Industrial Zone stated that the aid continues
uninterruptedly through the aid coordination centre they established in
Kayseri. He said, 'To the best of our abilities, we stand by the cities and
citizens affected by the earthquake. As a nation, we are going through a great
trial, and very sad events have occurred. The solidarity, unity, and
togetherness shown in our Kayseri earthquake coordination centre established
after the first earthquake on February 6th once again demonstrate its strength.
I extend my condolences to those who have passed away. May Allah grant patience
to those left behind.'
Stating that the aid
has been delivered to the cities in unity and solidarity in Kayseri, Cafer
Beydilli, the Head of the Kayseri branch of the Turkish Red Crescent, said,
'With its 155-year-old deep-rooted history, the Turkish Red Crescent is always
by the side of our country and people in every kind of disaster and difficult
situation. We actively participated in the coordination centre in Kayseri,
contributing to the delivery of aid to earthquake-affected families. I would
like to express my gratitude to our Minister Mehmet Özhaseki, our Governor
Gökmen Çiçek, Mayor Mustafa Palancıoğlu of Melikgazi Municipality, as well as
the Head of OSBs and Chambers.'
After the delivery of
the trucks, Mayor Palancıoğlu and the accompanying delegation from Kayseri
visited the earthquake-affected citizens in Yeşilyurt Container City.
