25 February 2026

Melikgazi Municipality, which restored the historical Bakkaloğlu Mansion located in Germir Neighborhood, is nearing the end of the work on the building, which will function as a Vineyard Museum.

Saying that they attach great importance to the rich historical and cultural heritage of the district with the restoration works, Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu said, “In Melikgazi, our efforts to restore historical buildings and bring them into service today continue with great meticulousness. We are bringing many structures, including mansions, inns, madrasas, tombs, and fountains, which are part of our district's tangible cultural heritage, back to the present day. Our Vineyard Museum, located in Germir Neighborhood, which we have restored in accordance with its original form, considering every detail meticulously, is the first of its kind in Kayseri. The mansion, surrounded by cut stone walls and featuring wooden carvings inside, is a 19th-century structure. The garden pavilion is also nearing completion. We will furnish the interior of the mansion in the typical vineyard house concept of the region and make it functional. In our work here, we are careful to preserve the original architecture and historical texture of the building, and we are advancing the process in a way that will keep the spirit of the building alive. Melikgazi Municipality will once again bring a cultural value back to our city. When our restoration process is completed, the Historical Bakkaloğlu Mansion will be restored with its spiritual atmosphere.” It will meet with our citizens as a cultural value in time. With the importance we give to protecting our historical structures, we will continue to add meaning to our present and future while preserving the past of Melikgazi. May our museum, whose restoration works have come to an end, be auspicious and beneficial to our fellow citizens.” he said.
