The Mayor of Melikgazi is Dr. Mustafa Palancioglu said that the Kabakaya Tumulus, located in the Gesi District of the Melikgazi district, is protected as an Archaeological Site, and the boundary of this tumulus area will be determined and made into a whole with landscaping and the surrounding area.

         Reminding that there are 633 sites within the borders of Kayseri province, all of them are registered; The Mayor of Melikgazi Dr. Mustafa Palancioglu noted that 100 of the total 633 sites located in 16 districts are located within the boundaries of Melikgazi.

       

         The Mayor is Dr. Palancioglu said that Melikgazi Municipality is a residential area rich in historical buildings and artefacts that testify to history, “100 of the 633 Archaeological Sites located within the borders of Kayseri are located within the borders of the Melikgazi District. In other words, 6 percent of the tumuli located in Kayseri province are within the boundaries of Melikgazi district. In every district of the district, history is gushing out from every neighbourhood.

The historical fabric and title deed of Anatolia are within the borders of our district. Melikgazi is almost like an open-air museum. By determining the boundary in the Kabakaya Tumulus site area, this area will be protected as a whole with its surroundings. Kayseri, culture and art constitute the infrastructure of tourism." said.
