Melikgazi Municipality, which continues its urban transformation works in 11 different regions without slowing down, demolished 9 shanty houses that had completed their lifespan in Yıldırım Beyazıt Neighborhood.

A high-quality and modern park will be established in the cleaned area, which the residents of the neighborhood can benefit from.

Stating that they have transformed Yıldırım Beyazıt Neighborhood into a modern living area with the urban transformation projects carried out, Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu, inspecting the demolition works on site, made the following statement: “We continue to serve our Yıldırım Beyazıt neighborhood intensively. We have 1st, 2nd and 3rd stage urban transformation works in the region. Previously, when we opened Dr. Sami İpek Boulevard, we removed hundreds of shanty houses. When we completely opened Şükran Street to traffic, we again ensured the evacuation of over a hundred shanty houses. We brought two schools, a mosque and a Quran course to the region; now we are continuing the construction of two more new schools. We also brought a very large park in front of the Trio Sites. Today, we are removing 9 shanty houses in this area by reaching an agreement with the rights holders. Our citizens are also extremely satisfied with the process.
