Stating that they carried out cleaning and maintenance works months ago by rehabilitating the streams and strengthening the rainwater channels against floods, Mayor of Melikgazi, Dr. Mustafa Palancioğlu said that there was no flood in the water channels within the borders of the district.

          Stating that they ensure the active operation of the canals by cleaning the puddles, stones, sands and plant wastes formed by the accumulation of waste water and sewage. Mayor of Melikgazi, Dr. Mustafa Palancioğlu said, “Our 19-kilometer rainwater channels on Erenköy, Hisarcık, Kıranardı, Yıldırım Beyazıt, Kazım Karabekir and Hacılaryolu are now open and functional. 

We continue to strengthen the infrastructure and superstructure of our Melikgazi district. We once again saw the importance of flood water canals in the heavy rain in the evening. We have flood water canals in many places in Melikgazi. This line starts from Eskişehir Vineyards and continues until the end of Sivas Street. With a study, nature and the environment are protected from floods.

With the rain, the water in the canals is increasing. There is no risk of flooding. In our canals, water flows without overflow. We have done a great canals work on Mimarsinan Organized Industry. As the municipality, we took these canals under protection and control with a concrete wall. We carried out cleaning works in Kazım Karabekir region and Yıldırım Beyazıt flood water canals within the boundaries of the district. Flood water canals, which have great duties in the prevention of floods, are important to us and we will continue our efforts as much as we can. We also make sure that it is open and clean by constantly cleaning it. It once again revealed the importance of concrete flood water canals and the necessity of cleaning them on time.” said
