Melikgazi Municipality provides medical care for sick and needy animals by dropping food to certain areas of the district for street animals that are adversely affected by winter conditions and by using a street animal ambulance.

       Stating that the same service provided to citizens as the Municipality of Melikgazi is also done to street animals, Mayor of Melikgazi Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu said, "The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change has issued a circular within the scope of measures related to unclaimed and endangered animals. Our duties and responsibilities in this regard are being fulfilled meticulously and primarily. For street animals that are sick and have had an accident, you can call our phone number 252 1333. We are always with our cute animal friends under all circumstances with our services for all living things in nature. Our Environmental Protection and Control Directorate teams dropped off feed and food to green areas, parks and various identified places in the district to feed stray animals and birds that are having difficulty finding feed due to cold weather conditions. Winter conditions negatively affect animals, as well as people. We regularly carry out foraging work for stray animals. After that, we will continue to fulfil our responsibilities by continuing our work on street animals. In addition, our teams with our fully equipped animal ambulance are rushing to the aid of street animals in need of help and injured. We take sick and injured animals and treat them at the Veterinary Faculty of ERU. There is an increase in the number of animals that are involved in traffic accidents in winter.
