Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu, met with the Parks and Gardens Directorate to hold a consultation and evaluation meeting regarding the works to be carried out in 2026.

Stating that many issues such as parks, green areas, intersections and landscaping works carried out in the district were comprehensively discussed at the meeting, Mayor Palancıoğlu said, "'We said that 2025 would be the year of parks and gardens,' and we kept our promise. Our work will continue rapidly in the same way in 2026.” He said.

Stating that they hold periodic meetings with the units to improve the quality of service and ensure that the work is carried out in a more planned manner, and that they work until late hours, Mayor Palancıoğlu stated the following:

“We continue to beautify our city. As Melikgazi Municipality, one of the things we enjoy the most is afforestation work, park construction and park renovation. In particular, in 2025, we illuminated the median strips, planted trees, built new intersections and renovated the old ones. Inshallah, in 2026, we will continue this..." Our work will continue at the same pace. We held a meeting with our Parks and Gardens Directorate and planned for 2026 together with my vice president, unit managers and colleagues. Within this scope, we have over 30 parks to renovate. We will try to renovate all of the existing parks in Yıldırım Beyazıt, Hisarcık, Aydınlıkevler, Kocatepe, Osmanlı, Sakarya, Ağırnas, Sarımsaklı, İldem, Selimiye, 19 Mayıs, Esentepe, Hunat, Gesi, Mimarsinan, Alparslan and Köşk neighborhoods. In addition, we also have median strip and intersection works. We are planting thousands of trees in Esentepe, 30 Ağustos, Selimiye, Sakarya, Osmanlı, Danişmentgazi, Esenyurt, İldem, Gesi Fatih, Köşk and Gültepe neighborhoods. Our slogan is clear: 'We are planting trees, not saplings.' Again, thousands of plane trees. We will plant the trees in the soil. The most memorable thing about our time will be the plane trees. God willing, these trees will green our city and district for 200-300 years, adding beauty. Therefore, along with plane trees, we are planting many ornamental plants and many other trees such as linden and oak in our district. We also do not forget our children. To make our children smile, we are enlivening and beautifying all our parks with new generation playground equipment. Therefore, as Melikgazi, we have reached a very good level in our park and garden works in 2025. God willing, our work will continue without slowing down in 2026.
