Mayor of Melikgazi, Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu said that they prevent environmental pollution by cleaning the puddles, stones, sands and plant wastes formed by the accumulation of wastewater and sewage in the flood water channels within the boundaries of the district.

        Stating that cleaning works have been started in the flood water channels in the Kazım Karabekir region within the boundaries of the district, The Mayor Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu said, "The flood water channels that are naturally formed in the direction of Mount Erciyes within the borders of the district are very important. These natural channels provide the connection of waters to Kızılırmak in case of excessive precipitation and snow melt. Therefore, they have great duties in the prevention of floods. As the municipality, we took these canals under protection and control with a concrete wall. We also make sure that it is open and clean by constantly cleaning it. Necessary cleaning work was carried out so that the water pools formed in the last rains do not become the nest of flies and insects. 

       Stating that after cleaning with bucket and mini loader, spraying was done against insects in this channel, The Mayor Dr.Mustafa Palancıoğlu added that all necessary studies for the environment and public health have been carried out, and that more sensitivity is shown on health, especially in summer.
