EUROPEAN EDUCATORS ADMIRED THE MELIKGAZI RECYCLING FACILITY

        As part of an education project, educators from the Czech Republic, Finland, Poland, Spain, Romania and Greece visited the Melikgazi Municipality Recycling Facility and got information about zero waste and recycling activities.

       Deputy Mayor of Melikgazi Municipality Gökhan Kömürcü, who gave information to the delegation by showing the Recycling Facility, said, “The 'Active Kids For a Better Within the scope of the 'Future' project, a delegation consisting of 22 teachers from project partner countries and 4 teachers from Adnan Menderes primary school visited our facility.During the visit, we explained the zero waste, recycling efforts, contribution to the economy and the functioning of the recycling training facility that we have done as Melikgazi Municipality.We also toured the Recycling Training Hall and the Recycling Exhibition Hall, which are the only ones in Turkey. We received the 'Zero Waste' certificate for our first municipal service building in Kayseri. Zero waste studies, which we started with the slogan of 'Zero Waste in Melikgazi', are carried out in a planned manner. The aim of this project is to educate students as sensitive, conscious and active citizens towards nature. Educators from the project partner countries realized that recycling is at a very advanced level in our country. They were amazed by the work. It was a good project for our city. We were proud to contribute to this project. We hosted some of our educators from abroad in the recycling facility of our municipality and introduced this place, and we are very happy to be a reference and an example for the project to be done.” said.
