Preparations for the holiday have begun in Melikgazi. A comprehensive maintenance and cleaning campaign was carried out in the cemeteries throughout the district before the holiday.

The cemeteries were made sparkling clean with the cleaning work carried out by the Melikgazi Municipality Cemeteries Directorate teams. In addition to the cleaning work, structural repairs were also carried out. The Turkish flags found on the graves of martyrs were replaced with new ones. Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Prof. Dr. emphasized that the routine maintenance of cemeteries continues throughout the year, but sensitivity increases during holidays. Mustafa Palancıoğlu:

“The peace of hearts, the healing of souls, the Sultan of Eleven Months, Ramadan, is leaving, giving way to the joy of the holiday. As Melikgazi Municipality, we are on the field to ensure that our citizens can visit graves peacefully during Ramadan. We have prepared our martyrs' graves for the holiday by replacing the flags with new ones, cleaning, maintaining and repairing the cemeteries, and landscaping. We are increasing our cleaning efforts, which continue throughout the year, in our cemeteries, which our citizens will visit intensively during the holiday. I thank my colleagues who contributed to this effort; I wish all our fellow citizens a happy holiday in advance.”
