Melikgazi Municipality police teams increased their inspections of food businesses before the Ramadan Bayram (Eid al-Fitr), checking the freshness and expiration dates of food products.

Reminding that inspections will continue in order to ensure that citizens have access to healthy and safe food, Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu said, “Production and shopping intensified before the holiday. In this process, to prevent our citizens from being unfairly treated and to protect their health, we have increased inspections of businesses selling sweets, nuts, candies, and chocolates throughout our district. Especially considering the expected price increases in products like candy and chocolate, which are essential for the holiday, our teams closely examined the comparison of shelf and cashier prices, the weight of products on the shelves, expiration dates, and price tags. Our teams also provided information on the hygiene conditions that must be followed during the inspections. During the inspections, the municipal police teams thanked the businesses that complied with the rules and initiated legal proceedings against the businesses that violated the rules.
