While the second phase, consisting of 23 blocks and 910 apartments, is underway in Battalgazi Neighbourhood, simultaneous demolition activities are taking place for the areas transferred to Melikgazi through social housing exchange.

As a result, 38 units of social housing were exchanged for 38 apartments, and in return, the demolition of 38 old houses took place.

Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu stated that the blocks of urban transformation in Battalgazi Neighbourhood are rapidly rising. He mentioned, 'The urban transformation project in Battalgazi Neighbourhood was approved in January 2022 with the approval of our president of the republic, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.' In our urban transformation efforts in Melikgazi, we are not only renovating old residences but also revitalizing the entire neighbourhood. When we collaborate with the residents of Battalgazi Neighbourhood, we create much more beautiful living centres. We are currently working on the demolition of areas transferred to the municipality through social housing exchange in this neighborhood. The first phase of a significant urban transformation was completed in this area. Currently, we are demolishing the old shantytowns in the transformation zone.  "We have provided 38 apartments in exchange for 38 units of social housing in this area, resulting in the demolition of 38 old houses. We ensure that our citizens are never left disadvantaged. For those who already have homes here, we are offering better, modern, and beautiful residences. Along with the transformation, we are introducing various amenities such as new roads, parks, a library, school, health center, and a marketplace to enhance the overall community services."
