Approximately 25 tons of waste collected daily from across the district are recycled into the economy at the Melikgazi Municipality Recycling Facility.

The "Zero Waste Recycling Project", launched by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's wife Emine Erdoğan, Melikgazi Mayor Assoc. Prof. Dr. stated that they have carried out successful recycling efforts in Melikgazi with the support provided by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change within the scope of the "Waste Project." Mustafa Palancıoğlu, during his visit to the Melikgazi Municipality Recycling Facility, said the following:

“We are at the Melikgazi Municipality Recycling Facility. I would like to thank my colleagues. They are separating all the waste generated by our citizens, such as paper, plastic, and metal, which we will contribute to the economy. Approximately 25 tons of recycled material are collected daily and contributed to the economy. Our President's esteemed wife, Emine Erdoğan, is giving all kinds of support because she attaches great importance to the "Zero Waste Project." We thank the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. Indeed, we are providing these services thanks to the support provided by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. But the biggest thank you goes to I commend my teammates. By separating waste, we are truly separating paper, plastic, metal, and glass, contributing to our economy. Let's not throw away the recyclables we contribute to the economy. We are collecting recyclable waste from all neighborhoods. It is extremely important to us that our citizens support this project. Congratulations again.
