In the 6th President's Cup Europe G-1 Ranked Tournament held on September 17-20, Melikgazi Municipality Sports Club Athlete came third in the Olympics she participated in representing the national team. Again, club athlete Merve Ünlü beat her Greek rival and came in third.

        Congratulating the athletes, the Mayor of Melikgazi, Dr. Mustafa Palancioğlu said, “Around 1400 athletes from nearly 30 countries participated in the President's Cup Europe G-1 Ranked Tournament in all categories. Our athletes put up a good fight in the tournament held in Istanbul between 17-20 September. Our daughter, Fatma Arslan, who competed successfully and placed 3rd, had our flag hoisted. I would like to thank our trainers Yavuz Sayan and Arzu Sayan for their efforts and support given to our athletes. Also, the taekwondo team of Melikgazi Municipality Sports Club, Merve Ünlü, a star athlete, came in third by defeating her Greek rival. Our Melikgazi Municipality Sports Club athletes are running from success to success. As a municipality, we are very happy to receive the fruits of our labour. Our support for sports and athletes will continue to increase. I congratulate our athletes who succeeded in the tournament and returned to Kayseri with an award.
